Analyzing the Chicago White Sox marketing ploys

Lately, I've been tempted to go to another Sox game. I am fully aware the White Sox aren't playing great baseball. However, I get excited about going to Comiskey Park even though several people would argue that baseball is a boring sport. Going to baseball games was always fun. As a child, I would go frequently with my parents, siblings, and several of the my neighborhood friends (emphasis on the "several"). Who knows how many of us were crammed in my dad's old blue Suburban! It's these fond childhood memories that I recall whenever I'm at the new White Sox park. Old Comiskey Park was demolished in the early 1990s to make way for the new ballpark across 35th Street.

Recently, the White Sox have been able to make renovations to the new ballpark because of their contract with US Cellular. Some of the upcoming renovations after the 2004 season sound promising. The "scout seats" seem like a good idea since it will allow people to sit behind home plate. As things are now, one only sees a tunnel and a camera crew behind the batters. You can click on the title above to see the amenities that will be offered to the people who purchase tickets in this special section. However, be prepared to pay a lot of dough for the perks. Seats with cost $170-$200 PER game PER person. Dang! I guess that's okay if the White Sox were playing like the St. Louis Cardinals, the Yankees, or Boston Red Sox. I guess there will be people willing to pay such an outrageous price (most likely corporations trying to wine & dine their clients).

When is half price night?
