I saw a TV ad today for a pill that helps boost your energy. The commercial starts out with questions like "Feeling stressed out at work?"
"Not getting enough sleep?"
"Always feeling fatigued?"
Just your luck, there's a pill to counteract the fatigue.
It is packaged like any prescribed medication, but I think it is an OTC (over the counter) product. Who knows what is in it. It might just be another bogus product to rip people off.
If you are stressed out, try finding ways to relax. For example, try listening to music, exercising, take a bubble bath, or go for a walk.
If you are not getting enough sleep, evaluate why. Do you stay up late watching TV or using the Internet when you know you should be IN bed sleeping? Do you drink too much caffeinated drinks (coffee or soda) during your day that have you wired at night? Here's a crazy idea, get more sleep so you are not tired all the time. Your body needs it. It uses that time to rejuvenate, decompress, and prepare for the next day. Sleepy drivers are equivalent to drunk drivers. Several times, I had to drive home sleep deprived after working 30 hours straight (being "on call" at the hospital). Fortunately, nothing horrible happened, but it was scary to find myself dozing off at the red lights.
Maybe the fatigue comes from a poor diet. If you load up on junk food, fried food, and fast food, your body is taking a nutritious beating. It will feel better if you ate more fresh fruits and vegetables and less processed foods.
So don't look for the magical pill that will cure your fatigue. Find out what's causing it and attack the problem from its roots. You might have to make changes to your lifestyle. It might painful to alter your current lifestyle, but your mind and body will thank you for it.

Excellent advice!
Thanks.
This is such a pill popping society. You are right lack of sleep is very dangerous. THe body seems to go into autopilot. When I don't have enough sleep I get cranky and can think of nothing but going to sleep.
Nena, I saw that ad and there is another one for losing weight too. It almost fooled me! I thought, dang, what a nice advert for a weight loss pill but wait! It is an OTC pill. hmmmmmm!!!!!! SHEESH! WHATever! And what about those lowcarb vitamins?????
I find it disturbing that drug companies can advertise directly to people, "This is the magic pill, now go ask your doctor to give it to you." They paint these wonderful pictures and then at the very end list symptoms the drugs cause that are sometimes worse than the actual ailment.
