Come on Down, Marlins

It was announced during the today's Cubs-Marlins game, that the Marlins will be playing at US Cellular Field on Monday and Tuesday due to Hurricane Ivan. Poor Florida is going to be facing its third hurricane in the last 2 months! The Florida Marlins were to play at home on Monday against the Expos for a 5 game series, including a doubleheader. Since the heat is on in the NL wild card race, it is important to squeeze the games in. The Marlins are 1.5 games behind the Cubs in the wild card. The Cubs-Marlins series during the Labor Day weekend at Florida was postponed because of Hurricane Frances.

Immediately, I called the Sox box office; they were not aware of the announcement. They did mention they were flooded with phone calls since the morning. They estimate more information will be released by tomorrow or Sunday. Game tickets are supposed to be $15 (general admission) and both games would start at 1:05pm. Five dollars of every ticket will be donated to the hurricane relief fund for Florida. I think I will be catching some FISH on Monday!

About $40,000 was raised by the 2 games at Comiskey Park. I'm glad I was able to contribute.
