I wish I could save all of them

Nothing saddens me like violence against children. The loss of so many innocent lives in Chechnya is disturbing. Then there is the daily violence in America that children face in the form of sexual, physical, and mental abuse. How can anyone think it is okay to step on a 9 month old because she is crying too much? How can someone suffocate a toddler or stab her newborn repeatedly? These are all recent crimes committed against defenseless children in Chicago. I will never understand how someone could do this and feel no remorse.

The whole Chechnya fiasco is so saddening. The newspapers showed the bloodied bodies of these babies. It's terribly depressing to see the anguished parents holding pictures of their children. It feels like humans are hitting all time lows. I hate being pessimestic, but I'm sure in a matter of time some whack job will do some crap like that at a school here or in another country.

We can not do anything to save them, all we can do is work together and hope that humankind will leave this state of indifference towards the value of life soon.
