Update on the Detroit pitcher (Urbina) whose mother was kidnapped in Venezuela.

DETROIT -- An online report out of Venezuela suggests the kidnapping saga of Ugueth Urbina's mother could be ending soon.
The Web site vheadline.com cited Venezuelan police detectives as saying they've traced the location where the kidnappers made their $15 million ransom demand. The report attributed Joel Rengifo, commander of the country's anti-kidnapping police division, to say the investigation has reached the culminating stages. Rengifo also reportedly said Urbina's mother, Maura Josefina Villarreal, was targeted because of his fame.

A report in the newspaper El Universal said the family is waiting for the kidnappers to make contact again so that negotiations can continue. However, the family wants video or some proof that she is still alive before they're willing to consider paying the ransom. That report also said the search has extended well beyond where she was taken hostage and into bordering states of the country.

Villarreal has been held for three weeks with little contract between her family and her captors. Urbina left the team to return to Venezuela the day after news broke. The Tigers have had little to no comment on the matter and limited contract with Urbina.
