Mad Scientist

you know you're a mad scientist when....

You're reading about SARS and the role of ACE2 in the viral illness, and eating a couple of Ferrero Rocher fine hazelnut chocolates (i can never eat just one).....

After a bite, you stare at the fine hazelnut chocolate and think
"Hey this looks a bit like a coronavirus"......while smiling gleefully (perhaps throwing in a sinister laugh).

I've eaten several of these Ferrero Rocher candies in my life, but until today did i make this observation.

Exhibit A: Ferrero Rocher fine hazelnut chocolates

i couldn't get a pic of the candy without the wrapper (i ate all 3 of them before this post)

and

Exhibit B: SARS which is a coronavirus

*after reading this article, it made me wonder about ACE inhibitors, which are drug used in diabetes, heart failure, and high blood pressure. What role can the current ACE inhibitors play in SARS? Can we use them?

the crazy ones are the geniuses! I want to be your lab assistant. Just don't make me swap spit with a chicken. THOSE CHOCOLATES LOOK SOOOO GOOD! I didn't realize they came in hazelnut.

Hazelnuts combined with chocolate are so good they should be outlawed.

mariposa - in my lab, swapping spit with chickens will be highly discouraged. in fact we won't approach any chicken without protective gear/suits. AND no sleeping next to the chickens ;)
