Hard Times are Coming...

Analysis of the bastard's speech was everywhere on Wednesday

on the airwaves
on the telly

Dubbya is a walking contradiction.

Of course, he began the speech with a mention of Coretta Scott King's passing (wife of MLK, Jr. - civil rights leader). Naturally, he got a round of applause. As I heard the applause, I thought "That's not for you, W, that's for someone who truly cared about humanity. You don't deserve any applause".

In one of the radio segments analyzing the State of the Union Address, the reporter stated that Hurricane Katrina was mentioned briefly towards the end of the speech. Many in New Orleans were upset that the President didn't really address them. Hurricane Katrina was the worst natural disaster in our nation. It barely got mentioned. Of course, that WOULD be the case....it was also one of the greatest fuckups of our nation.....all happening under the watch of Dubbya and Brownie.

Dubbya tries to reassure us....that the American economy is doing well.
You only have to look around your neighborhood/your city to see how many people are struggling right now, financially. At look at the Far East, China's economy is only growing and getting stronger.

According to the analysis, he was trying to say how America is not as innovative as other nations. We aren't number 1 in everything. No shit, Sherlock.
Just look at our education system. A current bill passed in the House is trying to make cuts in Student College Loans. A college education is expensive....& gettting more and more expensive with each passing year. More of the poor can't afford to send their kids to college.

My parents didn't pay for any of my undergraduate education....or any of my siblings' college education. All but one of us went to college....and the parents paid nothing.
Not because they were mean to us....but they COULDN'T afford it.
It is wasn't for government grants/loans, academic scholarships, minority scholarships, and working while in college.......we wouldn't have been able to afford college. I wouldn't have gone to college.....I wouldn't have attended medical school...and ultimately, i wouldn't be a physician today. You can't become a doctor if you don't go to school. You can't go to school if you can't afford it. Sure the rich folks can send their kids to college. I know that some of the students at my med school had their parents pay for MEDICAL School. Some of them have parents who are professionals.....doctors, lawyers, etc. Not like my parents who no way in hell could pay for my medical education. Let me tell you.....medical school is EXPENSIVE.

We are talking....$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
The average debt for a person who graduates from med school is about $100,000 (give or take a few thousands)

If our president wants our nation to be on the cutting edge of technology/science, make it affordable to go to college. There are several smart young people who have BIG dreams, but can't pursue their dreams/careers because they aren't privileged. Why is it that only the privileged/wealthy get a chance at education. Because we are poor, we deserve to be uneducated?? We deserve to get stuck with the low-paying, no benefits jobs???

Looking at this story on the impending cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, student loans.......i can't help but be angry/upset/sad. YOU want to balance our budget? Want to cut expenses?
Then Why the FUCK ARE WE AT WAR? War is expensive.
Expensive..$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

what are we getting out of this war? DEBT and Dead Soldiers....that what i see.
Dead Soldiers ....like the one Dubbya used yesterday to get our sympathy. He read one of his letters during his speech......a soldier who would not be dead if there was no IRAQ WAR.

Hard Times are Coming, my fellow Americans.
We need to take a stand.
We must prevail over evil.......the evil is named Dubbya.
We need to have our voices heard.
Talk to your Congressmen.....Representatives and Senators.
We have to say "Enough!!!! Stop destroying our nation. This is our America too."

Well said.

We can't be a first rate society if large percentages of our population can't afford to better themselves through education.

Our whole society benefits when everyone has the ability to earn an education. The ruling class of this society want to take us back to the Middle Ages.
