yep...19 innings of baseball.
i didn't see all 19,
but it didn't matter
that i missed the beginning of the ballgame.
little did i know i would be there for hours.
but in the end
it ended well.
my team,
the White sox,
beat the Boston Red Sox.
i think by the score of 6 to 5 (some things are a blur)
i was making myself sick with anxiety,
screaming....."we aren't going to lose this game, damnit! "
but that winning RBI by Iguchi
eluded us until the bottom of the 19th inning.
That's 2 whole baseball games!
Good thing it ended
because both teams were running out of pitchers.

my favorite thing about a really long baseball game is when the TV announcers start to get tired and ramble incoherently... that and when you can tell by the players body language that they no longer care about winning they just want the game to end.

i don't remember what the announcers were saying. i vaguely recall comments about "the shadows of the infield creeping in and causing problems for the hitters...blah blah blah"
i felt exhausted at the end of the game! at one point i did think "just end it already!" and "why can't we end it with a Tied game?"
