Patrolling the Hood

It always surprises me how in tune mom is with what the neighbors are up to and incidents in the barrio. Today she was telling me about neighbors who are moving. She loves to play the detective. Mama doesn't venture out of the house much, but she still knows when someone gets shot in the hood (sadly, it's not a rare occurrence). Another example, she knew that a new bank was going to be constructed on Ashland before any signs appeared on the property. I bet if she worked for the CIA, she would find Osama bin Laden.

Ay ay. The power of observation. If we were as focused, we probably would notice more things too!
