I tried to avoid the White Sox for awhile since they were causing me too much heartache. But I kept watching their games, hoping they would break their losing streak. Instead, I became more angry. We finally won on Sunday - Freddy got the win, and Shingo got the save. However, I did something unspeakable - I tuned in to the Cubs game afterwards. Not because I care about the Cubs - they have never gotten my attention. I don't hate the Cubs, but I can't get excited over them. However, I couldn't resist seeing NOMAR! Yesterday, the news trickled in that the Cubs acquired Nomar Garciaparra from the Red Sox via a trade. The Cubs have found my Achilles heel - Nomar. I will have to post a photo of him in his new Cubs uniform. Damn those Cubs.
I've never been to Wrigley Field, but I did come close to attending a game during med school. Some of my classmates wanted to go so my sis and I thought what the heck. By this time, I had racked up several Sox games since I began going to Comiskey Park during elementary school. However, it started to rain the morning of the game, so my sis and I decided not to go. Who wants to sit in wet seats at a baseball game? As it turned out, the rain continued and the game was postponed. We had our chance during that baseball season to exchange our tickets for another game, instead I gave the tickets to my brother in case he went to Wrigley. Since I was a Sox fan, I thought maybe I should never go to Wrigley Field. I wouldn't really want to see anyone there unless the Cubs were playing the White Sox. After yesterday's trade, I don't know if I can stay away. Damn those Cubs.
