Neon colors like puke green- if you were bike riding at night, at least the cars could spot you miles away. The dreaded shoulder pads - I ripped out so many shoulder pads from my suits and blouses in that era. Who thought women padded like football players was sexy?
U2 has to be the best thing to come out of the 1980s. Culture Club wasn't so bad: "I'll Tumble 4 Ya", "Time", and "It's a Miracle". There are some Duran Duran songs that have stood the test of time.
Definitely not a musical renaissance.
