Who else was going crazy?

Blogger.com was down yesterday evening. Don't know why. Like I said to D, nothing beats old fashion paper. It was good to see the blog come back before bedtime.

I missed Joaquin Phoenix on one of those late shows. But I spotted a story about another sweet treat in the Sun-Times. Cupcakes!

According to the article, cupcakes are making a comeback (didn't know they had lost "their cool"). An episode of "Sex and the City" featured some bakery in NYC which had people raving about the "cupcake". A couple of Chicago bakeries were mentioned as specializing in this treat. One of my favorite bakeries, Bombon, in Pilsen on 18th Street was showcased; well some of its appetizing cupcakes. Cupcake de tres leches! I'm going to have to make a stop there soon; maybe today.

I suggest that we make a cupcake tour in Pilsen. :-)

Uh oh, I went to the movies, then to a pizza place, then to the bookstore, I missed the whole Blogger down crisis.

Where do they sell a good Pastel de Tres Leches in Chicago?

Bombon on 18th Street makes delicious cakes de tres leches in addition to the cupcakes. I've bought several birthday and anniversary cakes there; satisfied everytime!
