She will read from her new novel "Finding Miracles" which is about "an ordinary teenage girl whose friendship with a new student named Pablo leads her to confront her identity as an adopted child from Pablo's homeland."

That sounds like and interesting premise.
I met people that were raised in the USA that came from other countries that actually discriminate against people from their own country that are just "off the boat".
I recently met an Anglo who's stepfather was a foreigner, he came to love the country of his stepfather and today he champions immigration laws that are more humane.
