According to researchers in North Carolina, it seems that exercise habits in the teen years do not always carry over into adulthood. And most teens do not get daily exercise, making the transition to adulthood exercise routines even more difficult. The team stresses the need for kids to learn good exercise habits before adolescence, as this group is much more likely to continue on and lead healthy lifestyles throughout the adult years.

Do you want to live longer? It’s time to get a better outlook on life! Researchers found that older adults who choose to have a happy outlook on life will live longer. The optimists were 77% less likely to succumb to cardiovascular diseases, including heart attack and stroke, regardless of the normal risk factors, such as age and weight. Those with a better attitude about life had a 29% less risk of dying during the duration of the 9-year study. The moral of this story? Put on a happy face!

According to one expert, the #1 rule for preventing eating disorders, or other unhealthy habits, is to inform kids on what is healthy and not just what isn’t. Another benefit from the program was helping kids to make good choices when it comes to drugs, sex, and dieting in general.
