Method to the Madness

So i've been analyzing my writing...my writing style
especially since most of the time, i just write.

Usually, i'm not thinking of following a particular format like a haiku or iambic pentameter.
Lately, i've been trying to make the conscious effort to rhyme more.
What I do like to do is come up with a theme or a metaphor and focus the piece to the specific theme/metaphor.
Try to stay in the boundaries of the metaphor by selecting words that apply or are associated with the metaphor/theme.

For example, in "hypnotic burn", i went with the fire/smoke theme..selected verbs, adjective, adverbs, etc associated/connected with fire/smoke

i have fun doing that...it's like a game....a mind game...brain exercise

The concept of creative constraint is an interesting thing to work with. An extreme example is trying to write a novel without using the letter "e". The constraint forces you to come up with different ways of expression and composition that you wouldn't come up with if you were without constraints.

Your poetry with or without constraints is very vivid.
