Often i have wondered
if i am on the right path,
in the right career.
Last night,
i had a moment of clarity:
yes, i am on the right path
the path might change,
take some interesting turns,
involve some unconventional detours,
but i am
in the right career.
the one thing
that spoke to me
when I was watching
this program last night,
which left me
misty eyed,
was
her words.
her - a woman with Crohn's disease -
actually she was a physician who was diagnosed
with Crohn's at the age of 15.
This woman was talking about a moment
during her hospitalization at the age of 27.
"she gave me back
my life.
not because she knew
how to cure me.
Because she was willing
to touch me."
It left me thinking
about medicine and me
our relationship.
It reminded me
of the importance of Hope.
Hope is possibility
Hope is what i try to carry
along with my stethoscope

Convergences...
I was reading an article about a young guy with crohn's disease on sunday, too.
He's 21, skinny, and is suddenly becoming famous on account of him also being an amazing street magician... less of a twat than that David Blaine, too! Yaay!
S.x
are we somehow cosmically connected?
hmmmm
:)
